IPMS Croatia activities

Tomislav Stipanović of IPMS Croatia writes:

It is my great pleasure to inform you about the activities undertaken by IPMS Croatia.

In accordance with our basic task of promoting modeling activities, during 2024, IPMS Croatia signed an agreement on joint cooperation with the Croatian Society of Technical Culture, which will provide us with a complete infrastructure to perform the necessary tasks.

Incidentally, the aforementioned Croatian Society of Technical Culture is a unique institution that is the only one in Europe to have the Law on Technical Culture, and its work is supported by the Ministry of Science and Education.

By accepting us into their community, we have successfully fought for modeling to become a recognized branch of technical culture, for which we have also secured additional budgetary funds.

Following the above, we have ensured that the members of IPMS Croatia, who are basically members of the Croatian Association of Military Miniaturists (HUVM), have launched several IPMS SIG projects, which they successfully presented during 2024 at several international scale model competitions.

The greatest success was achieved by the (SIG MEA – From Middle East to Afghanistan) project, winning on behalf of IPMS Croatia the award THE BEST OF DISPLAY 2024 in Mosonmagyarovar.

Motivated by the mentioned success at the end of 2024 and financially supported by the Croatian Community of Technical Culture, we launched a new SIG project called MEA 72, which will have its first appearance on March 8 and 9, 2025 in Vienna at the Scale & Paint Vienna Modeling Cup organized by IPMS Austria.

Furthermore, at the end of this month, IPMS Croatia will organize the 1st international modeling conference, to which IPMS Austria, IPMS Serbia, and several representatives of clubs from Slovenia, Hungary and Croatia have confirmed their arrival.
